Saw this on the bbc news website.
It’s a quiz basically, asking you what words mean. There are quite a few questions, about 140.

I messed it up on my phone and answered a couple incorrectly (when you press an answer it moves on automatically.

You know at least 24,400 English word families!



I know I got a few wrong, chose too quickly and a couple I didn't know at all.

Seems to be geared more for people who English isn't their primary language

Gave up at...

evacuate:

They were evacuated.
searched in case they had guns or knives
extremely frightened
moved to another place for safety
made to look guilty of a crime

although i must say some of the words, like sputnik, seemed a bit odd, especially with the ending spiel about how they were using words to determine associations when sputnik is very much a specific noun with only one possible meaning in it's english usage (although i'm sure it means something different in russian)
