Spec me - PC speakers

I've had it with my ancient Logitech stereo speakers. They are so susceptible to EMF interference that if someone in the same postcode uses a mobile I get pops and crackles galore.

I'm looking for a decent stereo set-up (2.1 is okay too I guess, as I could put a sub under the desk). Nothing too big. Ideally with a flat top so I can keep my desk lamp on top. Will be mostly used for playing mp3s, Spotify and films. Some gaming at some point I guess. Budget would be £100 max, but I'd like to try to keep below £75 if possible.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

For small stereo speakers, you're probably looking at ones with 3" woofers for a budget of £75. M-Audio AV32 or Presonus Eris 3.5 for a bit more, are decent choices. Both are around 13-14cm wide and around 15cm deep.

Speakers with a 4" woofer will be better as they can go a bit deeper, but they are obviously a bit larger. Really depends on what you mean by nothing too big. Edifier R1600T III are a good choice for 4" speakers. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/edifier-studio-r1600t-iii-2.0-60w-speakers-maple-sp-040-er.html

If you've got smaller speakers than those above in mind, then Creative T20 are probably the best choice for small footprint speakers. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/crea...0-speaker-system-51mf1610aa003-sp-115-cl.html

Thanks for the recommendations!

The Edifier ones you linked look a similar size to my current ones (a quick measurement has them at W14xD20xH27cm). They look nice too and I bet they'll sound a load better than these old Videologic antiques! Ideally I'd like ones with flat, horizontal tops though, as I have a few things on top of my current speakers. That's not a deal-breaker though, and if those speakers are the best stereo set-up in that price range then they look a good buy.

Cheers! :)

Oh yes you did mention about speakers with a flat top. Not sure how I manged to miss that. :p

R1280T are also very good, are around £90 and have a flat top. Seems OcUK have stopped selling those, but they can be had if you know where to look. ;)

I wouldn't have thought there'd be a great deal of difference other than the aesthetic differences.

Great! Found these for £90 and they look like just what I was after. A tad wider and deeper than I'd like ideally, but really nothing significant and I've checked and they will still fit on my desk. They look good and have good reviews, too.

Added to my wishlist for when I come to upgrade.

Cheers! :)
