Hi,

Does anyone know where there are any 2335s available? I bought three of them a couple of months ago from AliExpress.

Looking for 2 more in 6mm. It looks like supplies have dried up? Plenty of 2.8 and 4mm though.

Full ref is DS-2CD2335FWD-I.

If these have been discontinued can anyone reccomend something with similar performance please?

Thanks

I can never source a UK supplier that stocks the 6mm. They say they can order them in but it’s like 12 weeks wait or so. Some AliExpress stores have them when I looked last week but if they actually stock them is the question.

There might have been an issue with the 6mm last year which might have been the reason stock was hard to find and they never continued with them.

You might not notice an issue with yours but the diehards out there would notice an issue with the image.

Yeah I'm aware there were some focus / sharpness issues on these around August last year. I believe it may also have affected the 4mm but in much smaller numbers. I don't think it was officially/publically acknowledged as an issue was it? Did they discontinue the 6 then?

I've not been pixel peeping but I can't say I've noticed. As you say I probably wouldn't see it anyway.

Looking to order another 4mm 2335 and a 4mm 2555 which I can get easily enough but I was hoping for another 6mm 2335.

Not sure what to get as an alternative. The 6mm is essential really for the location. I'm open to other ideas it's a rural garden with no ambient light other than one 10w led PIR light about 30m away.

You could use the DS-2CD2T35FWD instead and I see the 6mm is available in the uk. You can get either the I5 or the I8 depending if you want a 50m IR or 80m IR. Only downside is, it’s a bullet.

Hikvision/Dahua IR can be turned off and cameras can be logged into via browser and uPnP etc can be turned off.

You should have the cameras on a separate network which has no direct connection to the internet if looking to use remote access, a vpn should be used and port forwarding should not be used at all.

Definitely ringfence them on a VLAN if your router or switch is capable.

Deny outbound traffic from the VLAN both to your network and the internet. Just allow inbound traffic from your main network to the VLAN with associated responses.

Then you can view them but your cameras can not call home or out to anyone else or any other home machines. Best to do this with any IOT devices too.

If your Blue Iris machine has two NICs you could just assign one to the VLAN and one to the main LAN and that wouldn't reqiure as much configuration.

Blue Iris/Ispy will be a vm on ESXi on it's own vlan.
regarding the two indoor camera's, are they any I could just place on a sideboard, the dome camera's look like the lens would be pointing up a bit too much.

Hi there, I am in the market for a CCTV system, there has been quite a few burglars in the area.

I have been recommended Swann by a work colleague, don't know too much about them myself.

I have seen a 4k system for £899 (NVR-800), or are there other systems cheaper and just as good as Swann?

Just looking for some assistance.

Cheers

Or have a browse through their EasyIP 3.0 collection. There are a few new cameras out not listed on their website yet but nothing fancy anyhow.

Stick to turrets instead of domes.

yi cameras are available on amazon prime day for like £17.99 to £38.

all they need is a plug socket nearby. they work through wi-fi and/or sd card. their cloud service is cheap.

no need for wiring up your whole house. total cost less than £200 for 5 and they are really good. only issue is plug needs to be close by. i use the internal cameras and just have them in windowsills pointing outside. works really well for the money.

they also have a £15 off voucher on the actual product page on some of them. so you have to click add voucher and it takes £15 off 1 camera. so you can order 1 on each amazon account you have. so i got a mate to buy one last time for me. i just ordered a 1080p one today for £28. so i'll be selling one of the 720p ones I have as i've upgraded it to 1080p. i then have 2 x 1080p and 3 x 720p. ideally you want the 1080p ones for pointing out of windows and 720p is more than enough for internal use.

i used a 720p looking outwards currently and the police were impressed with the footage i had to provide on sunday to them.

Shame they don't support rtsp without flashing the firmware (third party firmware I believe).

Got my Yi Camera. Was hoping it would be ONVIF compliant and be easily added into my Hikvision system - but seems not :(

Anyone successfully 'hacked' their Yi Camera Outdoor 1080p model to enable access to the RTSP stream?? I can get the Hikvision NVR to record the stream if so.

I see a few threads about flashing the firmware etc to enable it, but they're for the indoor versions of the cameras.

Might send it back otherwise, don't really want a second app just to view one camera.

Hmm :(

This may have already been asked but has anyone tried a cctv lightbulb? A mate has one and uses it via the app. But I want to be able to link it to my Synology surveillance centre.

I was up in the loft this morning and the bell rang... By the time I had got down they had gone... Some have speakers in them so I could have told them to wait...

I'll get one and see
