As title.

Why cheap-ass? I'm skint! This will only be home to an 8400, so no overclocking obviously. I have to go Z370 though, as I'm reusing 3200MHz RAM. No other major requirements, apart from needing ATX - just a cheap, solid Z370 board.

Suggestions?

If you are happy running the RAM at say 2400mhz then a cheaper chipset would suit your needs, otherwise just get the cheapest Z370 motherboard.

I was going to do that (get the cheapest) but wanted to make sure there weren't any duds out there. Fair point about running at 2400MHz - not sure how much of a difference RAM speed makes with gaming on the Intel side of things. I vaguely remember a Digital Foundry video comparing RAM frequency's effect on FPS a few gens ago (might even have been DDR3), but haven't looked into it since.

As you have the RAM though it might be worth spending the extra £30 for Z370 so you can get the most out of it, at £90 Asrock Z370 Pro 4 seems like a good bet, or if you want a smaller form then the Gigabyte Z370M DS3H £80 isn't bad either, for the 8400 you don't need overkill VRM's.

Cheers Doogles. The Asrock looks just the ticket!
