Personally I've just ordered a 1070 to upgrade from a damaged 780, at the maximum resolution I can play at even the 1070 is more than enough. The RTXs would just be an utter waste of money.

Not unless RT is picked up extensively in this generation of games. 1080ti is 95% of what I need, and having not seen any benches it is impossible to gauge the value.
