Progress is a little slow at the moment as my wife is still working full time for another couple of weeks, and i'm helping my last employer out over the weekends, however, a bit more progress made...

The letters will be painted red and will go a the top of the bar somewhere eventually, i've had a really good idea for the tap background but you'll have to wait and see what i have planned for that :D It's starting to take shape now and i can't wait to see it finished, but i'm not there for a couple of days now :( Roll on Monday :D

Sorry, My first thought on seeing the thread title was "The Little Red House" which is something very different indeed.

In a world where crazy people get offended about all sorts of nonsense, you might want to consider a different name for your establishment..!

Good luck in your new venture.

Will you be investing in some branding? I noticed your logo/graphics on your facebook page looks bit amateurish, no offence.

Not right now, we need to secure more funding before we can look at anything like that, as long as the beer and food is good, that's most important for now. Once we have money coming in, we will be pouring it back into the business to improve things like that, i'll get a proper web developer to sort the web site out etc. I just don't have time or the experience to do it myself. The facebook page was something i threw together in about 10 minutes just to get out there, and to be fair, it's working, got quite a following so far :)

Of course, if anybody wants to have a go, i'll be happy to buy them a crate of beer or something via paypal :p

I've offered bits quite a few times but you've never taken anything up :p

Brand is everything and shouldn't be coming second. It'll encourage customers to visit in the first place, and reassure them to repeat visit. If your brand is amatuer, what does that say about the quality, care, attention and professionalism of the rest of the business?

Yeah agreed, you at least want a reasonable logo and a basic website. A simple static website wouldn't be too hard to knock up with a bootstrap template or similar. I'd expect to see a bit of blurb about the place, some pictures of what it looks like, some location/contact info, and maybe a digital version of your menu.

Worth considering keeping on top of customer feedback as well somewhere. Not on your own website as you can simply doctor them too easily, but something like trustpilot, google reviews etc. Encourage people to leave some kind of a review somehow.

A little bit of an update, things are starting to take shape now, had all sorts of plumbers, alarm guys and septic tank specialists out so we can get our building warrant of fitness sorted out, we're looking at signage now which doesn't come cheap! Checked all my gas equipment, thankfully it all works! Ordered a couple of new bar fridges which should turn up either tomorrow or Friday, although, it could be any time in the next few weeks knowing NZ delivery standards, there seems to be no rush for anything here, tradies say they will turn up at one time and don't bother, you end up chasing them up! Also sorted our POS system out which we've got coming in about 2 1/2 weeks, my CCTV system is being delivered tomorrow too, gone for a 5mp 8 camera system. Wife has been up helping the last 2 days on her days off so she's put the first layer of paint on the walls, it's all starting to take shape now. Still lots to do though, a lot of tidying too. Total cost of renovations so far is still under $1k!

Have some pics...
