Hi

I'm replacing my dated 2012 build some time in the near future, here's my projected build 1.0.

I'm probably going to go all AMD just based on value for money and cheaper Freesync, I'm open to alternatives though. And open to any suggestions on components. I'd like to OC a bit if necessary, but not to extremes. I've already got plenty of storage. I'm keeping my old Benq 24" for a 2nd screen. I play everything from FPS and FIFA, to EUIV and old modded Rome titles, to RPG's.

Bundle: This just seemed to make financial sense.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...ram-free-480gb-ssd-online-only-bu-01g-am.html

£586.97

Cooler: Bought a recon Corsair H100i from here in 2013 IIRC and it's been flawless. It's staying in old system given to my brother.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...erformance-liquid-cooler-240mm-hs-03p-cs.html

£104.99

Case: I looked at the Evolve X but i'd read the airflow wasn't great and at just over £210 that's the absolute limit for me.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phan...glass-mid-tower-case-gun-metal-ca-055-pt.html

£134.99

PSU: Not really sure what I need here, looking for best blend of quality/noise/cost. I have a tendency to go OTT with PSU's!

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/seas...-platinum-modular-power-supply-ca-066-ss.html

£169.99

GPU: Self-explanatory.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...hbm2-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-190-pc.html

£449.99

Monitor: Here's where I'm really clueless, i've an idea to go 27" and 1440p? Not bothered about 4K. Heard TN is a bit old hat now. I'm open to curved etc

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...escreen-led-slim-bezel-monitor-mo-083-as.html

£449.99

Total: £1638.94

I'll need a nice mech keyboard/gaming mouse combo. I've used a Corsair K70 I think? - 2012 vintage, and it's been very good but it's tatty and grubby now though after numerous tea accidents, and i'm going to retire my amazing 10 year old MX518.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

@Darujhistan

saves about £100 over the above (including monitor it came to £1900)

better AIO , corsair is CLC and Eisaber is a true AIO with copper rad and compression fittings etc .
Case is solid for airflow with 6 fans added for intake and AIO mounted at top for exhaust . Phanteks Evolv has aweful airflow! Evolv X is a better improvement! but costly
16gb Samsung B-Die ram, your Combo only had 8GB and 16gb is recommend on here unless budget doesn't allow.
Gigabyte Vega, is smaller , lighter, 2x 100mm fans vs 3x90mm, 3 slot design like the Devil and slightly quieter but does run warmer by 9c . also UK RMA with the board unlike Powercolor and asus board.

Thanks Orbital

I definitely want 16GB, I missed that on the bundle. So basically 8GB more Ram and 6 HQ fans on top, and the £100 saving will pay for an SSD. I can get by with keyboard and mouse for a while anyway if i'm honest. I really like that case as well.

Can you recommend an SSD around 500GB? I'm going to put OS, programs and STEAM on it, I don't need my whole STEAM library on it at once.

Would the higher temp GPU be offset a bit by a better airflow case and fan set up?

Must admit , fans are okay, nothing like £20 a pop silent wings or noctua but no t as bad as LED ones from pc world !

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £277.67 (includes shipping: £8.70)

If you see in the test set up with the two cards, they did open bench and closed case .
If you've got good airflow , should kept maintain a steady heat level and offer any card the best possible climate

Cheers Orbital,

I can swap the fans out for better ones at a later date, I think i've got what I was after now at about what I was happy to spend overall, £180-£200+ for a case didn't sit well with me, and I thought i'd overdone the PSU as usual!

Don't get me wrong that PSU is a best with 12 years warranty !
You could go for the Focus Plus Gold with 10 years over the whispers 7. Whisper is tier 1 unit and Focus is tier 2 TOP end !

You budget and your personal tastes- if you would like better performing , better visuals or both go for it :)

I have 9 silent wing fans... Crying at the cost in that case

Does mean I can't run them at 90% all the time and it doesn't make a sound :D

That's a lot of fans! and you don't hear anything?

Is the MOBO WIFI only? - I definitely want cabled internet.

Changed my mind on the case i'm probably going to go with this, probably not the best for temps etc but I'm sure you can advise on how to improve the situation there. It's doesn't support a 360 rad up top, although it does vertically at the front, don't know what you think about that? or just go with same cooler just the smaller version up top.

Won't be building until after Christmas anyway (waiting until I move house) so plenty of time to fine tune things.

Case does look good and 360 at the front should be fine.
Nope no noise and the Board also has Lan Ports :)
