The sad thing is, the price of the 1080ti will now increase further as stock dries up, and artificial gouging takes hold.

Anyone wanting a 1080ti should probably jump on it now before the prices match the 2080.

1080ti is the sensible option isn't it. But if I'm upgrading then Im tempted to waste more money than a need to go 2080ti.

Such a shame the 2080 is so disappointing.

Its either a 1080Ti or a 2080Ti i would go for. 2080Ti if you can stomach the cost knowing you will be getting the most performance, ray tracing and DLSS when they release it.

1080Ti to 980Ti is no small feat either 60-70%ish so a 2080Ti will be twice as fast without DLSS possible thrice as fast with DLSS

What on earth are you babbling about? The RTX FE cooler is great and better than the pascal FE cards in every possible way.
Nope, it's on par with a blower for GPU temps and noise. That basically means there's zero reason to buy it (as previously the only reasons were the blower cooler and earlier launch compared to AIB, neither of which this now has).

NB: For anyone interested it's because there are almost no openings for the air to actually escape, meaning it can hit 80c on a test bench nevermind in a case.

And thats whats so appealing about the 2080ti, its a fairly big upgrade from a 980ti in terms of performance. But in terms of performance per ££ the 1080ti wins.

I want more from my 3440 x 1440 UW than what my 980ti gives me but not sure whether to go 1080ti or 2080ti. 2080 was an option until the benchmarks were release.

The 2080 maintains 100fps in nearly every game at Ultra settings @ 3440x1440p. Hardly disappointing.

If he can get one cheaply then i'd agree. 1080Ti beats the 2080 in pretty much everything once both are fully overclocked.

It doesn't though. The 2080 beats it in pretty much everything @ 1440p & 4k by 5-10%.

Performance is pretty good. Pricing is awful.

If the 2080 was ~£550 at launch like the 1080 and the 2080ti was more like £750 i think we would all be pretty happy with the 2xxx series.

As it happens ~£800 for a 2080 is lol money, and is Nvidia simply taking advantage of zero competition.

1. It’s £715 for a 2080

2.1080 was never £550 at launch as far as I recall at least for the partner cards. As far as memory serves I immediately preordered 2 x EVGA FTW (SHAME preorder SHAME) which as it transpired saved me a fortune because £ vs $ took a nose dive and @Gibbo honoured all the lucky preorders at a loss (legend). The 1080 was probably the same price due to that and low stock for a long time.

You’re only moaning because the 1080ti was surprisingly good value for its Titan performance... and let’s not even go there with Titan V.

This is a new level of misinformation. The 2080 FE is quiter than nearly every GPU tested in the benchmarks and has very good thermals. Its far quiter/cooler than Pascal.

I bet you watched the last part of Jay2cents video and thought the cooler is crap. Well i hate to break it to you but Jay2cents review was the the stinker. The accoustics & vapor chamber of the 2080 FE is getting praised from nearly every other reviewer.

What? You dont recall correctly then. I had a Gigiabyte G1 gaming on pre order for £559.99. I have the order details right in front of me now. There were also standard blower cards available for less than that.
