Which Drive Should I Keep?

I’ve got a laptop that I’ve had a few years (Acer V3-772G) which came fitted with a Seagate ST1000LM014 1TB SSHD 2.5" SATA as well as a Western Digital Blue 1TB 2.5" Internal Hard Drive1TB WD WD10JPVX Blue 2.5", 9.5mm, SATA III-6Gb/s, 8MB, 5400rpm.

The drive speeds are killing me so want to ditch one of them and replace it with a SSD. Any ideas which one I should take out? The plan is to put the outgoing one in an external USB3 caddy and install the OS fresh on the new SSD. Thanks.

Which one has the OS on it?

Run some health test and see which one comes out best.

Search SeaTools and WD Diagnostics.

Thanks for the replies. Both drives healthy. Used ATTO Benchmark for speed testing. The Seagate SSHD has generally 20 MB/s write speeds than the WD Blue, but the read speeds are way, way slower for smaller files and about 10 MB/s less for 1MB to 64MB files. The 2nd drive will be used for holding sample libraries to read from so looks like the SSHD is getting the boot (ho, ho).
