Hi All,

My current system is listed below, I am looking at a budget of £1500 - £2000 to bring my system up to date. What would you guy's recommend?

I run Adobe Premiere Pro CC2018, After Effects CC2018 and DaVinci Resolve 15.

Thanks in advance for your time and advice.

For what you are using it for, if your budget can cover it, Ryzen Threadripper all day long with 32gb RAM, otherwise, get a 2700X with a decent X470 motherboard and 32gb RAM, Ryzen is built for what you'll be using it for and stomps all over Intel in multithreaded tasks.

With more research it looks like for 4K and Adobe software Intel is the way to go, this surprised me as I was 90% going for the 1950x!

Now will it be 8700K or wait for the 9900K...

Another take on all this:-

Scrub that, the Intel iGPU HW accelerated encodes are of lower quality compared to software encodes, so looks like I am looking at AMD again!

DaVinci Resolve 15 resolve loves power!

through the kitchen sink at it ! thread ripper and 1080ti/2080 since its GPU based rendering , After effects gtx 1060 much like Prem - but Adobe will favour intel , i7 8700 non K use to be a cracking chip for it since it boosted to 4.3ghz but this has gone up in price the most!

which of the two packages are you going to use the most or is it split between the two ? as if its the later you'll need to get a nice balance
