Hi

I dont really understand, but im currently looking at these 3 :

I am more inclined to get the PCIe one over the SATA3 (due to cabling)

other than that, is there going to be much difference for the average user ?

I dont do any 4K transfers or do any video editing etc etc

I use Windows 10 64 PRO
I take high quality photos with my Camera, but im not into editing them with software to the highest degree.
I play modern games at 1080p
and i use software here and there but nothing that would require major speed

Whats the best option for me?

Id go with the 970evo polaris

But on a side note you've not mentioned your system specs. What CPU and motherboard do you have, how many gpus.

Will this be your boot drive also

good point,

specs :

i5 6600K "Skylake"
16Gb RAM
GTX 970 (Vega 64 next upgrade probably)
Prolimatech Megahalems Black + Noctua NF-P12
MSI Z170A Gaming Pro motherrboard
Asus Xonar Essence STX
Focus+ Gold 650W
SSD
Various Hard Drives

Do a few transfers from drive to drive (like videos)

this new SSD will be used as the boot drive

Will i notice a difference from the SATA 3 Vs PCI-e SSD ?

If you go for the m.2 polaris you will want to update the bios to this one
Version
7984v1F
Release Date
2017-12-27
File Size
6.9 MB

i did some reading on your behalf and seems there was issues with the earlier bios and the m.2 drives

in regards to nioticing a difference, you might you might not, my friend certainly did, his windows was much more snappier opening desktop programmes was certainly quicker after a fresh boot, if your one of these people who sleep your machine or leave it on 24/7 you might not notice much difference if your just doing basic taks, "some" games will load quicker some really wont.

if i had to buy another SSD right now i would go for m.2 based purely on saving case space.

hope that helps
