Data recovery company recommendation?

I think the only usual recommendations are to find the same model drive online and then swap the boards over.

How dead is dead? Do you hear it spinning up? or literally no movement whatsoever?

Only reason i ask is that if it's a mechanical failure, then it's likely much harder to recover. I would say most of the data recovery companies are specialists at recovering data when it's been corrupted etc.

+ throwing in the obvious of restoring from your backup :p

got a seagate external enclosure drive not spinning up st4000m000. obv pcb replacement is worth a try but anythin i have to have to do with the bios chip or just swap?
