9700k is the one to choose for gaming, I'm finding a chip without HT (8600k) is performing better overall than my old 8700k! Pretty reasonable at £360 oem too, get that baby upto 5Ghz

How is that Citizen Gaming PC on offer right now for entry level? I'm not really bothered about the free games, they're a nice plus.

I just want something to last for 2+ years playing at a decent level. I have little to no knowledge of the market but I know my specs at least. Thanks.

People would need a graphic card of 2080ti level for the Intel CPU to make sense over the 2700x in real-world gaming situation though.

Also, these Intel CPU might have the performance, but not really happy with the fact that even with £100+ AIO cooler the temp is still hitting like 90C+. Intel desperately need to die-shrink CPU to keep the power-consumption and temp in-check!

Yeah when you factor in that you really need an AIO cooler, that's another £100 quid or more on top of the price. Makes it look less appealing.

That PC with RX 590 or Vega 56 shall be very future proof, huge amount of power for not such a big price, it’s exceptional value.

I'm seriously considering a 9900K, I can't convince myself to get it until I at least see what AMD comes out with for CES on the 9th of January though.

Either way, I'm getting a beefy CPU for my new rig.
