Hi,

I bought the Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI board. Once I set up the PC, ALL the cores on the i9 9900k were boosting to 5ghz. Right after, I updated it to the newest BIOS update I could find on the Gigabyte website. From that BIOS update to the most recent one, none of the cores ever go past 4.7ghz.

I thought the CPU was supposed to reach 5ghz on two cores, right out of the box with no messing around.

What is going on? Have I done a stupid?

On some searching around, it looks like someone else has the same problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Thanks to no reply to this thread, I've got rid of this god forsaken board. I've now purchased the MSI MEG ACE Z390, which I am more than happy with.

So yeah, avoid this board!

Just enable MCE and it'll boost 5ghz all cores if temps are okay. MSI has the same.

Most people that buy 9900k will.manually overclock as vendors run a lot of volts through, specially Asus
