Swapping fan on hyper 212 evo

Hi all,
I'm a bit annoyed as the hyper 212 evo seems to have a proprietary fan and mines become a bit noisy..

But it doesn't seem possible without doing a botch job.

I'm half tempted to buy a new cooler but that would mean pulling the board out and lots of faffing around.

Why the hell did they put a propirety fan on it? And not allow fitting of different fans?

As far as I know it's a standard fan but there are small brackets at either side that screw on. Try this: look down one side of the cooler and find the two little tabs tucked into a groove in the fins. Pry those gently aside with a fingernail and the fan should be able to lever off. On the hidden surface will be two screws per bracket.
