Bought the drive brand new in 2015, it's been running fine but this afternoon went to turn on my computer and it's not detected in the bios I've reset the cables, tried another sata port but nothing

Anyone got any idea how I can bring this back to life, do ssd drives just die?

Cheers

Ssds can suddenly die with no warning unlike hdds where you may see issues before they kill over.

Have you tried another pc? You've done the common tests of replacing the cable and trying a different sata port.

Does seem like the drives died, can you see it in the bios or under drive management?

Install Samsung magician and make sure the firmware it up to date. I've had one or 2 SSDs go a bit wonky on old firmware before. Updated and they've been prefect for years.

And this is why I don't use SSD'S.

Hope you get it sorted OP.

At work I installed one of the cheapest SSD I could get several years ago (OCZ Onyx). It survived until last year, after replacing the secondary hard drive (1 TB) twice.

They do not all die prematurely.
