Hi,

I need to recommend a pre-built system to a colleague for his son. The son wants to play the following games and will plan to buy a 4k monitor separately from the PC purchase.

· Rainbow six siege

· ESGO

· Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

· Battlefield V

· Resident Evil

· Far Cry

Im thinking I would recommend an Intel based PC, running a boot SSD and a 2TB secondary HD. Graphics wise I think perhaps a Geforce 20xx card?

Budget is around £1500 but can stretch a bit if need be. Not sure about water cooling either, dont the water cooled systems need maintaining? (the son is 13 years old)

I was thinking something like this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...H33!YbCqI33~8bCqJ33~?bCqN33$@bCqO33$:bCqP33~V

Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,

build looks good, good price. would ask them to up PSU to formula 550w/650w unit though at extra cost.

and get a 144hz 1440p g-snc screen ! or free-sync one approved by nvidia as found here

https://www.overclock3d.net/news/gp...sync_displays_look_like_with_g-sync_enabled/1

reason being, only the 2080ti is a true 4k 60fps + card! at £1k price tag !

least he'll be able to push over 60hz gameplay at 1440p which is much nicer personally then 60hz and below at 4k , much smoother and faster gameplay

changes,

9700k as 9900k wouldn';t see much difference , AMP 2070 as its the better designed cooler and 480gb ssd- space is key over speed ( sata 3 ssd vs nvme ssd)

Thanks, is the Inno3D or Palit not a good 2070 card? Its £70/110 cheaper. Also, is the Inno3D 2080 or Palit 2080 worth the extra £200+ ? Will they give a better 4K experience?

all 3 are based on reference design, zotac just has the better cooler - though to be honest, palit has 2 year warranty and inno has 3 year- the system is pre-built so whole system should be covered for 3 years regardless... but worth checking with OCUK. 2080 would get better 4k fps - but again, most would rather play 1440p and above 70fps then 4k with average of 45-50 fps .
