Tiger one was good, was surprised by the lack of violence compared to some of the previous shows I would've thought we'd see more, would've been nice at the end if they mentioned what happened to her daughter.

Ha, how have you come to the conclusion that Attenborough did any actual "field work?"

It's not like he went to the South Pole and filmed for 6 months out there, or spent two years in Africa following lions...I imagine it's been many many years since he was properly involved in that sort of stuff.

He literally turns up for a little intro/outro and that's the extent of his filming schedule. He's 92.

this is true, he only narrates and does the intros
i doubt he even writes what he narrates

i only seen this for the first time at the weekend. enjoyed the chimp one (David!)
the emperor penguins were great as always but it has been done a lot before
look forward to the others

The mother tiger did have an injury in one scene, but Tigers are very hard to find and with only 80 or so in the reserve I guess it's incredibly hard to get the footage. The daughter presumably left the reserve in search of her own territory.

Was that the last one in the series?

We saw her injured but not how she got it compared to say the Monkey episode where he had serious damage and the painted wolfs that died from their injuries.

Yup was the last one, shame as there was other animals I wouldv'e loved to see but with them spending months if not years following certain animals around it wouldn't happen.

Was looking forward to this episode the most, but felt quite disappointed with how little was actually shown...for instance there was not even a single kill captured on film (unless I missed it?).

They just seemed to capture / show events after they happened.

Absolutely amazing animals though.

None shown, few chases that were over quickly then it cut to them suddenly eating a kill. Felt almost like they'd given a carcass to them to eat and get close up shots at times.

Sadly that's exactly how I felt while watching it, Glanza.

Shame really, considering they'd supposedly been following them for over two years and that's all they captured.

I know the director of the Tigers episode and he has previously said to me (before I saw the episode) that trying to get footage of them was really hard - hours and hours and hours of driving around for weeks / months for the occasional snippet here and there. I seriously doubt it was possible to get better footage. Irrespective of my loyalty, I thought it was great and I didn’t think there was a lack of footage - you lot are just craving the gore porn of the earlier episodes :p
