I can see plenty of Display Port to DVI connectors/cables, but are these also suitable for converting a Dual DVI output to a Display Port input?

ie: My KVM switch is DVI, so if I want to pump out its 2560x1400 video output from its Dual DVI socket to a Disply Port monitor, is it simply a matter of buying a straight forward cable for the DVI output from the KVM switch to the DisplayPort input on the back of the monitor?
