Decided I'm going with an R7 2700X as an upgrade from my sig. I had a few boards in mind. Would like to stay under £200.

I have not owned many AMD chips, I think maybe an old Athlon years back so no idea which is best here. I do use Wifi only btw.

+1 for the Strix. I've got one. Lovely board IMHO, does very well in the reviews I've seen too.

EDIT just seen the WiFi bit... don't think it has it onboard, but I only use wired connection :(

I have the strix as well, it is a fantastic overclocker, my R5 1600x sits all day at 4GHz with low (cant remember exact setting) voltages. Definitely does not have wifi though.

I can do the ROG strix. Over 200 at the moment is pushing it a bit, thanks.

Well regarding wifi I have a wifi dongle but seen some mention wifi in the name.

Why not go with the R7 2700 for £80 less ? Then put some/all of that towards a higher end board such as the Taichi, Crosshair or Gaming 7. At least that way you should be covered for Ryzen 3xxx if you want a higher core cpu in the future.

I had the R7 2700X on order since 8th, and it's arriving today. Which I got for £239, I can't really refuse/return at the door can I? I'd feel terrible.. But I get your point.

Yep, here with me now, pins are fine just slight paste on top, RAM and Board coming tomorrow. Asus X470 Prime and Teamgroup Vulcan T Force 3000Mhz. Had to lower the pricing a bit due to finances etc.

That was on B Grade here. But there was only 1 left, I'd keep my eye open though on their clearance section. As for the Motherboard I am set now, all up and running.
