Nice new strap just in from Banda. Poor pic doesn't really do it justice, it's a rather nice navy blue

I have just been given my deceased fathers wrist watch by my mum. The bracelet is detached from the watch at one end but I have a bag of extra bits. I have the wooden box and all paperwork and certificates. My dear dad paid £750 for it in 2001. It’s a Zenith Port Royal V. My mum thinks its a ladies watch and that wouldn’t surprise me as he liked more subtle/smaller designs. I want to send it away for repair/service/new battery but I don't know where to start and I would be devastated if it were stolen or something. Where do I start?

The V is a small watch but they did also do a womans watch which is much smaller. If you want to give it the best treatment and have original parts replaced such as the bracelet send it back to Zenith:

Although there are plenty of other specialists who can service the watch to the same standard as it's not a complex movement or case finishing.
Not that you're planning on selling it, but it's probably worth between £800-£1000 once serviced with all the box and papers.

Oh no, I could never sell it. The box has all the paperwork and receipts signed by my dad. I have just spoken to the dealer/shop my dad visited in 2001 in Leeds to buy it. It has to go back to Zenith for assessment but I don’t want them to replace the bracelet as it is the one my dad chose/wore. Thank you for your advice.
