I have Harman Kardon SoundSticks 2 and beyer 990 pro
Should i buy (for gaming) soundblaster ae5 or external g5 or g6?

i would also consider the sound blaster omni

it will power the headset and speakers plus give you some enhanced gaming features.

usb powered so easy to move between devices.

Im also considering change hk for something like edifier. Any suggestion?

SBX AE-5 has line outputs for 5.1, while G5 and G6 have only stereo line out.
Though that doesn't matter if you're only going to have stereo monitor speaker for music listening.

And that physical SBX button for fast and easy enabling/disabling of processing can be considered advantage for G5 and G6, if you want music with least processing also with headphones.
Between G5 and G6 unless former's software has been changed since reviews, it doesn't have easy changing between headphones/speakers.

i bought the omni for our htpc, its a decent unit, but if your stereo speakers only, i presume other units are better.

In general external is better as it's outside computer that will cause interference to the card.

Without question get the G6, it's an amazing feature rich external solution and that's from an owner of both an AE5 and G6.
