Has anyone had any success with any retention deals? Currently with talk talk paying £22.50 for 40/10 and coming up to the end of contract.

So far they won't budge on any price.

VM - 350MB - £33 a month
Sky Q - full package with additional room, UHD, movies, sports, etc - about £50-£60 a month.
tv license - £13 a month
netflix - included in sky package for free
amazon prime - £40 a year or whatever the student deal is

i could save money by ditching 350MB and going with sky but it will be at best £10-£15 per month saving so i'd rather keep the 350MB than drop to 40MB to save a few quid. i could also drop movies and sports but it's a good deal for now. i see it as £15 per week for many hours of entertainment. i know people who spend £100 for 2 hours of entertainment at a gig so it's good value for money. the alternative would be to watch crap and save £15 per week.

Plusnet Fibre 38Mb/s and Evening and Weekend calls - £13 per month
Sky Entertainment and HD - £19 per month
Amazon - £40 per year (paid annually)
TV licence - £150ish per year (paid annually)
Mobile - Unlimited texts and calls, 8GB data - £10 per month

To be honest comparing like this is a bit pointless as as a new customer you'll have joining offers, potential cashback deals, vouchers etc. It'll also depend on what you've paid up front such as the landline costs etc.

Either that's really expensive or the Gigafast 900 (866/866) is a bargain at £48/month.

Gigafast is cheap. Hyperoptic are coming to my area in the summer, they are under £50 for 1gbps. FTTP is always expensive compared to FTTC, it's annoying really as for the price I am paying I should be getting what the line is actually capable of.

Gigafast is FTTP. They marketed it as 1gbps but only offer 900Mbps at the top tier. I get 866Mbps up/down which is close enough. The guy who installed it said that the 900 package isn’t restricted to 900 so could go to 1000 if it synced that high.
