It would help if you could post a photo of your iDrive service screen.

The iDrive shows:

Vehicle Check 03/19 or 20000 miles
§ vehicle inspection 03/19 (this can be changed in iDrive so I guess is MOT - not relevant in Jersey anyway)
Engine Oil 03/19 or 8000 miles
Brake Fluid 01/21

The car is 2011 and has done 48000 miles. I thought Inspection II was at 60000 miles, so not sure why the dealer's system is telling them it's due now.

I cleaned the MAF sensor this evening so will see tomorrow if that has fixed the rough idle situation.

Don't know if you've just not listed it, but my idrive shoes when brakes need doing as well (although not sure if it's pads or discs or both). It is also an e92 m3.

There is no inspection 2. It's gone for ever and it died with the E46 almost 15 years ago.

The car is due and oil service and vehicle check next month, have a look at the service book and see what was done last time it had an oil service but it's likely now due the major oil service with the plugs and filters etc too, hence the cost. In terms of work this when combined with the also due vehicle check is basically the equivalent of the old inspection 2 so probably where the confusion has come from.

Yeh I never get the vehicle inspection done. It's just a waste of money in my opinion - the car gets MOT'd, and gets a check over at its service once a year too. I'm not going to pay BMW another £80 to kick the tyres and check the horn works.

They gave it a free check over when it went for it's recalls anyway (a fairly thorough one) so I'm wondering what, in reality, they do over this to justify an £80 charge. My guess is that dealerships see this as a bit of a money for old rope service which takes them about 5 minutes to do.
I think you need it for the corrosion warranty though.

They did send me a video of someone checking the tyres and brakes

It does but irrelevant for now 15000+ miles to go on both so I didn't list it.

Dealer referred to it as Inspection II... I have no faith in the assistant's competence though.
e90?!? 330i good daily choice? looking at options for replacing my s2000 as it makes a terrible commute car (suprising that)

A great choice, but I'd recommend the E93 (hardtop convertible), great car.

Guys, I'm cursed.

Dynamic Damping Control Failure :(

As soon as I got off the motorway after an 80mile commute this morning it flagged up and the car feels old school with no damping.

Just got her back after spending a load on an oil service, rear tyres/brakes/discs :(

Dilemma: Do I take the car all the way back to Birmingham to the garage who replaced my suspension and everything about a year ago, or do I take it to this garage a few miles away from where I am who I trust to do a good job.

Could any warranty on the parts be claimed by a different garage somehow?

Birmingham garage have said they can't figure out the issue and to give it to BMW. The code apparently flagged a relay which they changed but no luck.

Going to take it to the other garage in MK tomorrow and see if they can figure it out - if it is a part from the previous change I should be able to sort it with the Birmingham garage under warranty (fingers crossed).

EDIT:

Update - Took the car back from them yesterday and had a chat with the fella who never mentioned the relay thing again and instead said the code flagged an issue with one of the air spring bags [they replaced the air springs in march] but they say there's nothing wrong with it or the wiring so don't know what to do.

I've dropped it at the bimma specialist today so let's see wa g'wan

My car is still on hold. It's been nearly two weeks now with no news and others are in the same situation. I'm half tempted to cancel it all.

Hope you don't install the upside down like you opened the box:p. How much lower you going?

That would be the wife, god knows why she felt the need to open it

Drop is 40mm all round.

Was initially going to buy the ACS springs but really don't like the way the car looks on these.

Can anyone give me the secret of how to actually get good friendly service from dealers? I thought by now, having owned 3 BMWs in a row and performed all services / MOTs etc. there they might begin to treat me like a valued customer.

Right now my Z4 is in for MOT, Brake Fluid & investigation for noisy front suspension. I booked it a long time ago, but there was a 10 week wait for a courtesy car (!). That's outrageous enough, but I have an MOT deadline ultimately so OK I'll have to use trains and book half a day off work. Anyway last week I phoned up to ask about arranging a test drive for the same time, so at least I wouldn't have to spend half my day on trains. I am genuinely considering an M2/Early i8/ Early M4 for my next car, albeit not until summer at the earliest. Completely uninterested and unwilling to provide any such cars, despite having approved used examples of each on their forecourt.

Am I just the wrong customer? I feel like they're only interested in baby boomers buying X3s?

Im not sure if this is actually true but I was once told that if your BMW is more than 3 years old then you get a less than premium experience.

Correct, 335d XDrive. The car is on stilts as standard, looks abit silly.
Is that an xdrive thing? (im sure i read the xdrive are higher than the non xdrive version). I just wasn't sure if you were going for the slammed look as all my cars look like theyve got less than 20mm between the arch and tyre (although they are more sporty).
