I have huge respect to anyone who drives one on the road as you feel so exposed should you crash or another car hit you them just like a biker it’s going to serious hurt.

The full cage helps a bit with the feeling of vulnerability, but it's not fun driving past lorries on the motorway as the look like they could run right over you and not even notice

A nice purchase.
Take it easy when it is cold and wet. The car can be a bit lively.

Here is a picture of mine:

I have had it for 16 years now, and it is a little bit different from when I first bought it. I wanted a classic look, with a bit of power. It has gone from 135 BHP, to about 150 BHP for a while and then I rebuilt a 1.8 for it.
It now has a 1.8 VHPD Rover K series, which produced 211.4 BHP on the dyno (the 0.4 is very important!). It has too much power to really use properly on the road.
It will do about 60 mph in 1st and 90 mph in 2nd.
You will also notice the front suspension is a little different as it has inboard dampers.
Other mods have been done, and are too many to list.

I think 150 to 160BHP BHP is a sensible level of power to have for road use, as long as you have decent tyres.
