Something went wrong, ordered a Mustang, yet ended up in a British hotrod, I blame OcUK!

I've always recommended the 458 even though only been a passenger in one ( I know ). never driven the hurracan but have the r8 v10. The 458 makes sense on all the above as you have pointed out. But like you say you need to be sure before you drop all that ££££ it's going to be a tough one..

Agreed!
R8 V10 Gen2 Plus is essentially same car as Huracan, only difference is Huracan is around 50kg lighter and the whole car is tuned more aggressively on gear change (corsa) and of course noise. But they pretty much drive and perform identically, R8 has more room and better visibility, Huracan is way more special even though same car, because Lambo!

Hi I drive a Audi vs Hi I drive a lambo yup yup I get it..

To me if your dropping that sort of monies the performante would be the one. But a part of me would still want the 458. It's a no win no win :)

See there is no right or wrong

I think its a timing thing, 458 values stable, Huracans dropping slowly, Performante an unknown, could drop could explode.

2yr in a 458 by which time Huracans would have bottomed as out of warranty blah blah and the 458 probably still be worth more even trade than a Huracan retail, at which point get Huracan or Performante, then 2yr later 570S shall be 50p and cheap as peanuts to buy as can easily see them 50-80k retail in 4-5yr time whereas Huracans will probably never fall under 100k unless high miles and 458's at that time will all no doubt be 150k plus as they could go way of E46 M3's, the CSL exploded in value thus pulling the values of regular CS up quite a bit and even regular car, as a 458 Italia is 90% of the Speciale and those are now 300-500k and going up, the 458 seems a sensible place to put money.

Going to view a yellow on Friday. :)

I really do hope 570S becomes £50-80K in a few years, hopefully that means other left field choice like the NSX follow suite. I'd be all over that.

I think 570S coupe for sure will be 50-70k Nathan for bottom of market, they are already 90k if you shop around and they still have warranty, once out of warranty, 30k plus miles these cars will be cheap because there is only one Specialist (Thorney) and they are super expensive to run in comparison to say a Ferrari.
570S Spyder will hold value better, less of them, Spyder always fetch a premium, more so in Mclaren world as there is really no penalty, only positives, but can see them down to around 90-110k.

NSX I feel will become cheap too, unlike the original the new car is not special and its American built and that really shows on the interior, it is to be honest quite nasty inside, a Mustang is nicer, that is saying something. Only thing in NSX favour is rarity, but if they continue production, they will become cheap, maybe even 60-80k levels.

I found the interior pretty good tbh, although the one I drove had ivory leather, alcantara dash panels & the extended carbon, so that goes a long way to making the interior up to scratch. A 7.5/10 in reality though.

That just summaries the NSX, it's no better than the GTR but nearly twice as much.

I still love it tho

That interior options will help for sure, standard they are quite plastic.
The NSX is hugely fast, like the GTR but I'd say the GTR has more feel and is more mechanical, the NSX is a lot of computerised magic going on with the electric motors etc.

I've offered 130k on black one with carbon paddles retro-fitted and 60k on mine, see if they go for it.

Also looking at yellow on Friday, its up at 157k, same miles 14k, but 2014 so about £2000 saved in services, still 20k more for yellow, I will view and offer around 140k otherwise I am not sure the yellow is justified and considering the attention black one got, maybe yellow will be too much even for me, not sure.....

Sounds like you’ve decided on the 458. My money would go in the lambo, it’s a more modern car and potentially easier to live with day in, day out. (He says having never been in each!!!)

Also I think driving a lambo I could pretend I was Bruce Wayne...

Gibbo has been on about a 458 for a looong time, as long as I've known him anyway, so I had a feeling he would settle on that ;)

I fully appreciate my knowledge in this company of cars is worth £sod all but, £20k for a colour?

Put it another way,

Hi Mr Gibbo, we’ve got two cars for sale, one yellow one black both the same price, but, if you buy the black one, we’ll give you £20k.

Are you really going to turn that down?

I know these cars (when new) are aimed at people who’ve made substantial money to the point where a few £10k is neither here nor there, but surely they made such sums by not being daft enough to pay £20k for a different colour or am I just being naive in my thoughts?

I imagine Gibbo seeing a £20k price difference as being either a Yellow 458 sat on the drive or a Black 458 plus V10 M5 for the same money.....

I wonder if that’s just planted a seed? :D

I know the yellow one has been or sale a while, I spotted it two months ago and it was 147k, they then seem to increase price to 157k, or maybe an error, I've been watching cars since around October, so over three months now, pondering my next purchase.

720S, were around 210k when I started looking three months ago, same cars are now 170k area, Crinkles old car is now down to 173k and I've heard of some changing hands in 150k region. 720S will be 120k in 12 months, its epic but is a massive depreciation car, they sold and made way too money.
570S coupe were 115-160k, these are now 95-130k typically and still not selling, the Spyders were 140-170k and are now 130-155k and also not selling, same cars for sale.
Huracans were 140-200k, now they are 130-190k but seem to be not moving.
458's are 125-160k for 10-20k mile examples, some rougher high milers for around 110-120k but were talking 50k plus miles, no warranty and not possible get warranty on. Some of the 458's I had ear marked have sold and all were advertised between 125-140k and were typically silver or black. Some 150k red ones have sold but both yellow ones remain unsold. The prices if anything have edged up slightly.

The market is super slow!

:D

I’m assuming that’s for real?

And guessing,if so, they sell more LHD variants?

Or is it just an opportunity to pull pants down further? :D

Two cheapest in UK one is LHD and one is 71k miles, would not touch either as the 71k mile car is an ex super car event car and hire car, in other words totally abused, plus it looks naff too.

Fascinating insight, but that doesn’t answer the question re the colour ?

(I’m wondering if that reply wasn’t directed at me tbh!) :o

While it's obviously great in black, and pretty much any colour, you'd be missing a trick not getting red or at least yellow. It just raises it to another level IMO.

Also, black is a total pain to keep clean, no matter what you do, believe me :p
