but people pay it so why not charge it? :)

Clearly not enough considering their sales figures for it were poor. This sort of gouging is starting to fail in phone markets and to a degree in the gaming industry.

Eventually a level of ‘good enough’ is reached for most people.

Though it’s a tad irrelevant for absolute best in market products, as there will always be a market for the whales among us.

Accorded to JPR, Q4 2018 was the worst quarter in 10 years due to collapsed of crypto-mining but 3 months on after RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 launched and moved out GTX 1000 series excessive stock saw Nvidia gained 81.2% marketshare, 6.9% increase compared to Q3 2018's 74.3%. AMD had the worst Q4 2018 with AIB marketshare collapsed to 18.8%.

AMD's Raise The Game Fully Loaded 3 games Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5 and The Division 2 promotion began on 15 November 2018 had not helped it.

Q1 2019 will be interesting to see if Nvidia still gain marketshare with 2 free games in Jan and Feb and now 3 games from March for RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080, 1 free game of choice for RTX 2060 and RTX 2070.
