Due to failing health my old man cannot currently drive his car. So has asked me to look after it for him. As much as I wish it was only temporary I have a sad feeling it will be permanent.

Yeah, Hyper Silver. Chose the CSL's with a more traditional offset fronts 8.5J x 38, rears 9.5J x 40. My stock 313's were 8J x 37 and 9J x 39 so had no issues fitting. (7mm closer to the strut and 5mm closer to the arch.)

The more common offset would have moved further away from the strut by around 12mm and out against the arch by 20mm which might have required an arch roll, given the M3 has more aggressive body styling.

Can't fault the value and the finish is pretty good. There is a very minor run on one but given the price and the goodwill refund, can't really complain :)

Still running the PS4's that were on my 313's. 225,35,19 and 255,30,19 without issue. Sidewall angle is a little different but far from 'stretched' and plenty of protection still. Well as much as a sidewall can offer... :o
Fair enough, they do look nice but I'm not brave enough to run 19s whilst living and driving in pothole infested central London...
I was hoping they do something similarly pleasant in 18s but the choice seems a bit more limited and I'm always concerned I'll end up somewhere with a disintegrated rim after hitting a pothole. Not that some stock BMW wheels don't do that anyway...

Going to be in the R8 for the foreseeable future. Annoying not least as I have the money for a 720s and even worse having been at the Spider launch this week, but sometimes life means money has to go elsewhere. Slumming it in me Audi for the next 12 months at least :(

And on that point...

Swap for my T5 for 12 months if you want, it’s red like your R8.

I did find myself looking over the McLaren 600LT more than the 720S, but for the money the 720S is the one as they head towards 160K. The warranty on my R8 is over £2K this year to renew, which is still good value when last year I had over £25K of claims on it. I would never take a fast saloon over a supercar if I had to chose one. No RS/AMG/M Saloon comes close to the 720S on any level outside the ability to carry 4 people.
