We've been here a few times and stayed in the 'Potting Shed' really nice and quiet, were off there later in the year again, usually do Friday to Monday and it's really good.

On a serious note wales I have been to many places Llangollen is fantastic and also Conway.
The lake district is also great and so is Edinburgh and ingleton falls not far from Lancaster, the is probably more but cannot remember everywhere I have been to in England.

I would recommend it for an outdoorsy weekend, some decent beaches around Filey, Scarborough etc. But if the weathers not nice there is also plenty of town/city activities you could get involved with. York is a particularly great city with some great museums, I love the place.
