Am I expecting too much? (£1000 gaming laptop)

After some advice.. I have about £1000 to spend on a predominately gaming focused laptop. It needs to be able to play everything from PUBG/Battlefields to company of hero’s and Total war(s)..

I’ve been doing the research and have come up with several brands and models which appear to tick a lot of my boxes.. I’m aware that the most important thing is a decent graphics card, so I’m looking at models with the GTX 1060 6gb.. next the cpu..ideally it will have an i7-H processor, but I guess I could get away with an i5?..and a 15.6 high res 120/144hz screen.

There appears to be several on the market that would fit the bill, but I’m also keen to get something that last a few years. which might mean spending a few hundred more pounds.

My short list includes the following - all prices taken from Curry’s website for comparison sake.. are there any others I’m missing which might be worth a look, or any good deals at the moment?.. opinions on the ones listed would be appreciated.

Not really looking to do any immediate upgrades.. so ideally it would be good out of the box

DELL G5 15.6" Intel® Core™ i5 GTX 1060 - £899

ACER Predator Helios 300 15.6" Intel® Core™ i5 GTX 1060 Gaming Laptop - 1 TB HDD & 128 GB SSD - £1049

DELL G3 15 15.6" Intel® Core™ i7 GTX 1060 - £1049

MSI Raider RGB GE63 15.6" Intel® Core™ i7 GTX 1060 - £1249

HP OMEN 15.6" Intel® Core™ i7 GTX 1060 - £1249

I would never advise people to own gaming laptops.
I say this as somone who has used 5 different £1000+ laptops since 2010. They always disapoint me.
Laptops are ok for short bouts of heavy high preformance use, but generally they hit thermal issues too fast.
Every laptop I've owned has always significatly underproformed for its cost. A guide to buying is to concider all laptop components one step down from what they actually are composed of.

Assuming you're not swayed by the above...
You might also want to concider clevo laptops, although they have problems, they are usually costed better than most branded laptops.
Also consider buying laptop cooling stands and installing them anywhere you expect to use a laptop long term.

I have an MSI GE72MVR 7RG Apache pro and I play up to 5/6 hrs at a time when I’m away and although the fans get loud the laptop never gets to hot or tries to overheat! You can set settings for fan speeds to speed up incrementally as the heat rises so do the fan speeds......if you buy an MSI remove all the bloatware straight away!

I recently purchased a medion erazer x6805 with a i5-8300H (basically an I7-7700HQ with 100mhz overclock), 8gb ddr4 and a 6gb 1060. I stuck another 8gb ddr4 in there and it runs great. Cooling system is good too, plus it's even better if you undervolt the CPU by at least 100mv
