Hi folks, as per the subject, anyone running a P222 in their Gen 8 MicroServer? Happy with it? I'm a bit worried about the heat, mainly. Everywhere I've read it seems to run extremely hot.

I have a couple of reasons for wanting one:

- Performance of the on-board B120i is utter rubbish (all caching is disabled), and I'd forgotten that bays 3 and 4 are 3 GBps (only bays 1 and 2 are 6 GBps)
- Being able to install ESXi 6.7 (currently on 6.0 due to the ancient driver for the B120i being needed, and everywhere I've read indicates that 6.5 and 6.7 have appalling performance)

Ran a 410 and 212 at various times in mine for years without issue, doubt the 222 would be much different to be honest.

That's good to hear, thanks!

Were there any issues with compatibility? I thought only the P222 was officially supported.

HP and official support can be a painful subject, let’s just go with the microserver not being fussy about what you put in it.

Was more thinking of fan speed -- I like my MicroServer to be nice and quiet (fan currently at 6%).
