UPDATE

v1.77 update on Experimental build- Vulkan support! AMD gpu owners (such as me) will love this. You know those stutters and hangs? Gone. Game-changer... It's wonderful. I've had to turn the frame limiter on!
Rolling out to main version after a test period, but it's looking good so far.

EDIT It's not v1.77, but an update to v1.77. Just to clarify.

If you want to try the Beta
To play in Experimental, right-click on No Man’s Sky from the Steam library page and select “Properties”. Among the available tabs will be the “BETAS” tab. Select “Code: 3xperimental” in the dropdown menu under “Select the beta you would like to opt into”.

Doenloading ATM :)

Sorry but what's vulkan ?

It's a graphics API (basically an instruction set to control gpus), and it's much, much faster and more efficient than the OpenGL API the game used before.
AMD GPU users were particularly hamstrung by OpenGL.
I upgraded from a 390X to Vega64. Every other game showed massive improvements, while NMS gained about 5fps... That has now been rectified! :)

incredible boost here on my Vega64 system. I've spent the last 6 months playing on my other rig (1080ti) because performance was terrible on AMD, but just tried again and it's blinking lovely now with Freesync. Buttery smooth over 100fps at 1440p most of the time, drops to 70ish on some planets but thats double what it used to be :D
