ASUS Maximus Hero VIII Fan weirdness

Hi all,

I'm finding that one of the fan headers on my mobo doesn't allow me to adjust the fan speeds through speedfan or through the ASUS software.

All of my fans are 3 pin ones, but this particular header doesn't seem to be adjustable.

AUX and AUX1 are okay, but AUX2 just just runs full speed all the time, which is annoying because I was trying to reduce noise since my temps are very good.

Anyone had this before?

Cheers,

G

Is it changeable from PWM mode to DC? On my Asus boards there's some weird name like Smart Control IV. it's in the deeper settings on Speedfan - can check over the weekend but not home right now.

I got it working in the end. I swapped the 12mm EVGA fan I was using on one of my RADs to a Noctua PWM one and this is now working.

The weird colour of the Noctua doesn't fit with my case at all so I've wrapped it in black vinyl to hide it. Looks decent now and everything is running cool and quiet :)

Now I have control of all 7 of my fans on 4 different headers using splitters :)

This is how it looks now:

The Noctua is on the right hand side of the vertical RAD on the right.

I'm super happy with everything now :)
