Where should I connect the PC to?

I have an spare mini PC and thinking of adding it to the home theatre system. The PC has HDMI port. Should I just connect it to the TV or should I connect to the receiver? Pros and cons of each option?

To the receiver. Pros, a lot less hassle with properly playing audio formats (e.g. I can't get 5.1 audio in a game if PC is plugged into TV directly even though I have 5.1 properly configured in settings). Cons, not so many, for me it was just 5K (VSR not native) sometimes not working properly in a few games when directly connected to the receiver but worked fine in others. If not gaming above 4K obviously not an issue.
