Setting up 3560G without serial

Hi all,

Grabbed a WS-C3560G-48PS-S off the bay as I needed a cheap 48 port PoE switch.

Trying to setup a management IP address. Tried to use express setup mode, but following the instructions, logging onto the switch default IP doesn't seem to take me to a wizard just a webpage.

I tried assigning an IP and gateway to VLAN 1 but I couldn't access the switch on that IP.

Am I going to need to set this up using a serial connection or is there something I am not trying?

Yeah you'll need a serial cable for a device that old. Newer ones will have a built-in USB console.

There is no way to configure it over IP? In express setup mode the device defaults to 10.0.0.1. I just need to change that to a 10.23.x.x address and I'll be good to go

How are you trying to access it? Telnet might be open by default on an old switch.
