I have found two recently in my utility room although I just assumed them to be Falsies - Not sure the real thing are really prevalent in the UK?

Nasty looking things. I just caught them and released them.

Indeed, they will be false Widows in the UK. Completely harmless despite what the sensationalist media BS would have you believe.

Not totally harmless, they can still bite (as well as a few other spiders we have in the UK). They probably won't kill you though.

If I can recall, weren't some schools closed this year (or in 2018) because of the infestation of spiders. I think they were Black Widows.

We brought a colony of the real black widows back to the UK in 2012.
The wee horrors made there homes in our Apache rocket pods whilst being on Ex in California ,and were flown back to Suffolk.
Fun times around camp for a while :D
