Oh I don't think anyone says it isn't addictive. I just say it could be SO much better.
Imagine if:
1. The game had decent netcode/no de-sync and bullets always hit where you shot at. Frostbite is miles better in this regard.
2. The game didn't have little micro-stutters, even on the fastest gaming computers in the world.
3. Touching a vehicle moving 2 MPH didn't kill you.
4. Didn't have a significant amount of cheaters.
5. Player movement was a bit more realistic and didn't feel incredibly sluggish like a big tank of water sloshing around.
6. Vehicles didn't float in the air like a balloon when going over a incline/jump.
7. A replay camera that actually worked properly.
8. Loot didn't take multiple seconds to simply appear in the world for some people upon landing (even on the fastest computers).
9. People being able to shoot at you from behind objects with 1 centimeter of their head exposed.
10. Head-shots didn't take up a massive unrealistic amount of kill percentages in game.
11. Grass/foliage stop rendering at 200m for peoples crap computers, completely dictating how you have to play the game. 100% opposite what is realistic. Distance should make you harder to spot/target/shoot, not easier.
12. Smoke "pluming" differently on each persons client, so you don't know if you are exposed to other people or not based off of your client.
13. Molle rendering a complete joke, fire not even near you on the ground yet can light you on fire.
Just some stuff quick off the top of my head. And yes, I still play it (although not as much as I used to).
