Perfect timing. Had an 8GB stick of my Corsair DDR4 2.4GHz fail recently and sadly can't RMA due to second hand / no receipt. Same looking stuff as linked in this post, but different timings from the looks of things.

Any of these 16GB sets particularly recommended (or ones to avoid) for a Ryzen 5 2600 setup? Want some overclocking headroom but don't plan to get too carried away

I'd go with Kingston 3200, best value, of course depending on the motherboard 3200 may not work on AMD, but 3000 should be fine, you can downclock of course.
Alternatively get the TeamGroup 3000 kit.

You could get a 2400MHz kit, but 3000/3200 gives a nice performance boost:

Thanks for the reply @Gibbo, The Kingston set does look nice, but so does the 3000MHz TG Vulcan with the tighter timings at a clockspeed that should definitely work ok. I'll do some reading on how my board clocks and ponder whether I want to get RGB too since I'm getting a new toy :D

The 8 Pack stuff is excellent, it’s screened Samsung B die so is exceptional in both AMD and intel platforms and the price is lowest it’s ever being and guaranteed B die ram is still very expensive, just look at G.Skill Trident Z prices for proof.

That 32GB pack was soooo tempting, even though I'm not even sure I need 16GB...

Ordered the 3200MHz Night Hawks earlier on. Should be able to get my new system built tomorrow, all going well.

The original plan: swap my ageing i5 2400 setup for a Ryzen 1200 + 8GB DD4 and upgrade further when funds allow.

The reality: bought a Ryzen 2600 instead of a 1200 as there was one going for a good price in the classifieds. Bought 16GB DDR4 instead of 8GB because the price per GB is a lot better (and I wanted some RGB - 2x4GB RGB is expensive). Bought a new case because I'm fed up of rooting around in the cramped interior of the SG13 (and I wanted RGB :D). Bought a new PSU because the fan on my current one started clicking this week and it's not worth fixing. Bought a Noctua U12S because... I have no impulse control and I saw how awesome these Noctua tower coolers look with the Chromax heatsink covers and some RGB fans :D.

£200 budget? Yeah... that went out the window...

RAM arrived. It's massive! Waiting for my AM4 adapter for the Noctua, but at the moment it looks like I won't be able to get a fan on the RAM side (maybe a really slim one will fit?).

haha amazing what the threat of a class action for price fixing has done, samsung and co miraculously worked out how to make cheaper ram, who would have thought.

Would remove any point in buying RGB RAM though, surely?

The Noctua is going back anyway. The AM4 adapter kit arrived, but wouldn't fit. Turns out the eBay seller wrongly advertised the cooler; it's a different model. He couldn't remember which one it was, so he guessed. The stock cooler will do for now.
