Do you still use bookmarks?

I use Chrome and Safari have about 30 bookmarks on the 'Favorites/Bookmark bar'. Otherwise I just leave the browser open and pickup where I left it.

a million tabs open. I make bookmarks but I can't remember the last time I used one.

sometimes I'll look to see if a page I'm on is bookmarked to know whether I've been there before.

Yes because search prediction etc is all part of big data gathering, so turn all that kind of stuff off.
this is a valid point and one i'll take into consideration

I bookmark loads of things I think I'll go back to, and then never look at them again. I tend to just keep loads of tabs open and have my most used websites on the bookmark bar.

I still use bookmarks a lot for the same reasons I always have. They still have the same functionality and I still find it useful. Searching for everything every time works, but I find it more useful to use bookmarks subdivided into categories. A lot of my bookmarks are Youtube channels. It's far easier for me that way.

I used to use Speed Dial (Firefox add-on) but I now have my own set of dials. I made it in oldskool HTML 4, threw a load of transparent PNGs into the mix and made them all the same size. I'm partially sighted and so this works for me. Darkened background, no text, and it lets me have more than 15 / 20 / 25 etc dials on 1 page.

The top row is apps, then forums, then social, then news / random / hobbies underneath.

I use to use bookmarks, but like the OP, I now just type the first couple of letters and let it auto fill or use the most visited websites thing on the Chrome landing page (I guess they're like bookmarks). Also, like the OP, I only ever bookmark things I'm researching. Up until Windows 7, though, I used bookmarks heavily.

You reminded me I still need to reorganise my bookmarks. I used to have them organised into folders, but for the last couple of years, I've just been dumping them on the bookmarks bar.

The sad thing is I know I have some handy bookmarks, but I can't find them.

I use FireFox and have 41 "favourites" in a drop-down menu with 16 as direct links and the rest split into 4 specialisation folders (like Saudi or Audi RS6 Stuff etc). I very rarely have to type anything into the address bar anymore, even for random stuff as you can highlight text thats onscreen and then use the "Search with Google" function for 99% of things.

No. I normally have say... 8 - 20 tabs open permanently of things I am currently doing / do every day.

For the stuff I don't do everyday, I honestly think its quicker to just open a new tab and then google it than to navigate the bookmarks.

Don't use bookmarks unless it's really important and I don't use it much

I regularly bookmark webpages for work, gaming, computer tech and reviews stuff.....and about once a month I spend an hour going through them to sort them into folders and delete the ones that I didn't need.

I do indeed. I even have folders now! But I'm finding I don't use them much... Well especially not the ones that I bookmark as "read later". The ones where it's something I might need to reference e.g. a Recipe, they come in very handy.
