The biggest jump in gaming performance would be from a new GPU - my cash would go on a GTX 1660ti. Following that you can save for the Zen 2 release in a few months time and upgrade the rest. Now is not a particularly good time to upgrade the core system, you'll get more for your cash once Zen 2 releases.

@Plec and @orbitalwalsh have a wealth of knowledge also and may be able to add more ideas for you.

I have a feeling the cpu can be a limiting factor and I do not want to upgrade 2 things at once.
8GB memory is also possible source of hiccups unless you carefully limit amount of background stuff.
But RAM price is finally going down to level where it should be, so would be better to wait some.
Just like in case of CPUs.
Zen2 likely brings big jump in bang per buck/future proofness per money.

If you use PC lot daily I would also start planning replacing PSU.
That's cheap very low end PSU with design from time of Hadrian's Wall in PC tech terms.
Would recommend Bitfenix Formula.

B-Stock Seasonic would be also another option.

(though certainly would be better to ask that there are no cables missing etc)

For graphics cards there are some discounts related to AMD's 50 year anniversary.
