1 Document Waiting... (HP Officejet 8720 problem)

So I upgraded my printer recently to the Officejet 8720.
And for some reason, whenever I want to print a document, it does so, but it stays within the spooling software and doesnt dissapear, until 5-10 mins later.
I try to delete the job, nothing happens.

Im at a loss as to why this is happening, as I uninstalled previous printer drivers (also an HP) and installed the new drivers.

Am I missing something fundamental here?

Any advice appreciated, thanks folks.

> stop the spooler service (services.msc)
> Then go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool and delete anything that is in there
> Restart spooler service.
> Test print.

Sounds like a stuck print job in the spooler.

Actually its still doing it... still have items in the queue after printing the first document... doesn't make sense....
So even after the document has printed, the job is still showing as "printing"....

I had the same issue with the same printer. I could never find a solution... i just keep clearing the queue in printer proprieties

Yep did that.
Infact I have just figured out what it could be...

I have adaware running in the background, as soon as I disable this, the printer behaves normally.
Not sure what to do to allow adaware to run....

Hi bud. Sorry for the radio silence! Yes infact I think I did find out why.

I had adaware on my computer and when I stoped using it, the print jobs went through no problem.

Solution? I switched to Malware Malbytes

it probably thinks it's malware and stopping the process, the easy solution was to change software just like what you have done.

Yep I think your right mrbell1984.
And Im quite happy with malware malbytes, seems to be quite robust, didnt mind paying £52 for 2 years subscription.

You do know Malware bytes is free right? for home users that is.

MWB is free but does not have the active scanner running, it really is worth paying for just for this.

On the site it said the free version is only 14 day trial?

And as above. Realtime scanner is worth it.
