If I purchase the above could I activate in the Microsoft Store on my Windows 10 PC and play it on there?

It looks like the Xbox one and Pc games are two separate versions, hence the one you linked is purely of for the Xbox:

I already have the Xbox One version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Are the two versions of the game linked?
The Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition are different versions. There's no link or crossover between the games.

As you'll need to have a Microsoft account to sign in to Xbox Live to play, you can earn achievements and gamerscore in both games. However, any progress you make on the Xbox One version will not carry over to the Windows 10 version, and vice versa.

Ahhh. That's a shame. Ah well. It's only another a fiver more on the Microsoft Store. Not to worry.

If you check the microsoft store it will always tell you. Example this Gear of War 4 is play anywhere so one copy works on xbox and pc.

Anyway check on the store and you can always tell.
