upmarket. so wouldn't stay there unless you had money to burn (which means why Motherwell in the first place) or really needed somewhere upmarket to stay (fussy wife). it only has 18 rooms for instance. £90-£140 a night is comparable with a brand like radisson / hilton. if i was spending that money i'd rather go to mar hall alas it's not motherwell.

The Moorings on Hamilton Road is a good shout not too far off the motorway and far enough away from the town centre that you'll never need to set eyes on it.

Around Glasgow. My uncle is going to hire transport. We are just staying in Motherwell for 2 nights anyway.
Why not stay in Glasgow?
And, are you going to actually be at the hotel? Just book a premier inn that’s handy for the hotel or something.

I played 5 a side in Motherwell in August 2004. I remember it because we played to the sex noises of two homeless people who had taken up abode in the car park. I think we got beat 3 or 4 nil

My advice is to stay in your room and lock the door, wherever you end up, and get back over the border as soon as etiquette allows. Stab proof vest and no speaky English accents are advisory should you need to exit your room. Have fun, it's only two days...Independence might soon be there
