Long shot, but does anyone know about decent woodworking chisels? I was looking at getting some Narex cabinet makers chisels, but upon further research they don't look as good as I first thought. The ferules are fake brass and apparently split after a while according to an Amazon review.
So now I'm on the hunt again for an affordable chisel set ( 6mm-12mm-19mm-25mm)for general bench work i.e dovetails, mortice + tennons etc. I did see Ashley Isles chisels, but they seem to be always out of stock and after emailing their own store they said they had no idea when more would be in stock .
Their 6 chisel set is in stock but it's £150, which is more than I was hoping to spend (The Narex set is £38) and has chisel sizes i'd probably never use and strangely doesn't have the 1" 25mm chisel.
Hi have a look at Bhaco there made of good steel ive there socket sets plus hand saws.Have Marples Chesils newer ones are total sh!te. See if can find older ones.
Have a look at this place do the Japanese chisels also https://www.thanettoolsupplies.co.uk/
Thanks, I would go for Bacho if they did wooden handled chisels. I am not a fan of plastic handles for workshop work, but do use them for my joinery work as plastic doesn't mind getting wet. There are loads of older Marples chisels on ebay, but as usual everyone knows their worth and prices them accordingly .
I'm half tempted to try the Aldi chisels that Paul Sellers is always recommending. I have my doubts a pack of 4 made in China chisels for £8 will be any good though, having bought cheapo chisels before. They just never seem to have them in stock whenever I call in or check the site.
This is the pic I found that put me off the Narex chisels. Looks like they have used tinfoil for them ferrules...

What's the beat bang for buck item for trimming trees? Some of the branches can be quite thick. I was thinking of a reciprocating saw?
The WORX Jawsaw looks kinda appealing
