Hello all,

I've never ventured into this section of the forum, as i've only ever purchased one TV in my lifetime. I am currently building and looking to buy everything for the new house. I have read through the forums and the net.

So much information really. So I am looking for the best bang for my buck at the 1000gbp/2000nzd price range. I live in NZ, so probably I won't get the same deals as available back home.

One TV that has popped up a few times has been the X90F. Currently on sale here for $1999 NZD with a free PS4. That bonus makes me believe the TV is probably over priced, or the fact it's being phased out. https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/sony/sony-x90f-55-4k-uhd-android-smart-led-tv/338764/

Anyway look forward to some suggestions.

Cheers.

The X90F is a very popular tv.

$1999 translates to £1050.

I paid £999 for my 55" XF90. If I had the option to get one for £1050 with a free ps4 that I can sell for £200 I'd have bit their hand off.

Thanks for info. As it stands this is still considered a good price considering it is being phased out, nothing new in 2019 at a similar price is better?

Yes because the new model will be £1600 ish or something like that.

You have to remember when I bought at £999 it was the lowest it has ever went after a year.

The new models will be £600 and drop to £999 after 1 year like this did.

So buy it or buy the XG90 in a years time.

The only other option might be an LG B8, but I don't know if it's priced similarly in NZ. So it's either that or the XF90. I got the XF90 myself, but I sit close to the TV and LG struggles with upscaling - it has that typical impressionist painting contouring which bothers me immensely, and I use it with a PC 100% of the time so OLED's not a good choice. If you sit far away and just use it as a TV, then the B8 wouldn't be a bad choice.

It was on the list but I cannot find any stock. The issue here being smaller country, less options, retailers and the like. The Panasonic OLED 950 I can get for $2600, but if I factor the PS4 in its around $900/$1000 more.
