Ships under attack in the middle east

Do you have proof that they historically have submarines and torpedo boats in the gulf of oman???

It's some dumb "false flag" idea. The same line that Russia throws around when they get caught blowing up passenger liners and stuff...

Israel's navy is tiny and mostly quite old ships. It's mainly for coastal defence. If they were going to shoot tankers surely it would be easier to do with a jet from 100 miles away and blame Iran.

Israel's defence budget is $18.5bn dollars, it's obviously impossible for them to have a small submarine in that area though. What's the motivation for Iran to attack a tanker when they would inevitably suffer economic and possibly military retaliation? What do they get out of it?

I'll give it two hours until this becomes an armchair general thread, filled with military geniuses and munitions experts.

Watch some ships being struck by a Torpedo on youtube. They make a real mess and cut the ship in half, so unlikely it will still be afloat.

Tanker hulls are not going to be as strong as a military ship either.

Posted the same minute. Thought it would take at least ten.

I am suspicious that so many people are so quick to point the finger at Iran

especially as they were closer to the iranian coast..if you attempt to sink large tankers which countrys coastline and fishing are likely to be affected, why do something that will cost your own country in cleanup.

Are you aware of who runs Iran? They're not exactly of a sound mind, theyre one of Hezbollahs mains sponsors for a start.

Mossad false flag quite obviously, what is Iran getting out of sabotaging some random ships? Makes no sense. Israel giving the US more excuses to attack/sanction Iran benefits them massively.

Iran are under heavy sanctions and oil prices have now shot up, the few countries who are still buying from them will have to pay a lot more. Iran's economy could collapse and the fall out could see a government overthrow so I'd say they have a rather big incentive to drive up oil prices and protect their economy. The thing is if they have done it they'll have just paid some ISIS frogmen so it'll be impossible to prove either way, as it's going to be impossible to prove people will just blame either Iran or Israel depending on their own bias.

What's more likely. Saudi pay ISIS you know wahabi + wahabi. You know documented to export terror. Vs Shia pay ISIS who literally couldn't be more polar opposite.

Besides Iran have plenty of proxies without having to utilise ISIS anyhow even if they did get someone to do it for them.

From what I can make out seems the latest claims are that disguised mines with timers were attached to the vessels while in port.

Why does someone need to pay ISIS?

Since when do ISIS have any navy resources or know anything about naval mines?
