That Alpina is absolutely stunning

Those stripes on BMW grilles are such a stupid mod, proper Halfords level crap. I saw them in the colours of the Italian flag on a Maserati the other day too, turns out they're a thing.

Guy at work has an RS6 badge on his Audi A6 2L diesel and a quattro badge on the lower grill also sporting a NOS badge on the upper grille. Also has no MOT, no tax and no insurance, because **** the other person if he has an accident right.......

I've never understood the whole 'put badges on my car to make it look like something it isn't' school of thought. The Bentley badges of Chrysler 300Cs being the worst example.

The way I see it is this: Anyone who knows so little about cars that they would be fooled by it wouldn't notice or care. Anyone who might actually care will spot it a mile off.

I remember having this exact conversation with my mate getting on for 30 years ago when you saw XR3is with RS Turbo badges on..

Even half decent conversations stand out a mile, I used to see something claiming to be a Focus ST on the M3, good conversion with all the right badges and wheels and exhausts, the lot.. stance was all wrong, like it was on stilts.

It's always baffled me, I get tasteful mods.. not outright trickery.. I mean especially when its medium cars, don't you spend more on making it look like the thing than you would on the thing?

Bentley Chryslers and especially Ferrari MR2s excluded from that obviously!

Sigh.

Still tacky, but doesn't seem as tacky as BMW people doing it with the M colours.

Maybe thats because its a less common sight. Or maybe its because some high performance Italian cars have little Italian flag details on them anyway.

A little while ago now, but saw this magnificent machine in the wild.

Wow, that truly is spectacular! So many boxes ticked it's unreal, right down to the wood screws :D

Wow that roof looks safe.

Landau top, common mod in the 70s. It's stretched over the original roof, rubbing every little bit of grit and grime nice and deep in to the paint and rotting the roof as it absorbs moisture over time.

I wouldn't want to be in that car if it rolled.
