For the last couple of days, i've been having a consistent problem trying to get online, i'll get into a room with other players, then as soon as i leave my apartment, everyone else leaves and suddenly i'm in a session on my own, every single time i try. It's happened once or twice in the past after a few minutes or half an hour or something, but i've managed to get straight back into a session. Anyone else had this issue or know of any remedies? Thanks
This weekend was pretty good for issue, I did not experience any other than snow
However what you are describing is latency issue your end. Its how everybody gets solo lobbies, suspend process or changing MTU etc.. Soon as you lose contact with the R* server, everybody disconnects.
What is it like today and do you have any issues with any other sites?

I got on last night, i had a feeling it might have been latency actually. I'm on a metered 4G broadband connection (rural), i get decentish down speeds (62Mbps), up is closer to 30Mbps up. Latency is about 37ms though, i'm hard wired to my router so not sure how i can improve the latency.

I started it up last night out of boredom. First 15 minutes of being online is just endless phonecalls from NPCs, and dozens of popups about warehouses and bunkers.
It's literally cancer. Pestering me into spending money.

That sounds absolutely abysmal... it'd probably be worth installing the FiveM framework and playing on custom dedicated servers if the regular GTA5 Online is that flooded with so many nuisance ads.

Now they've started doing actual In Game Advertising for IRL products. Getting an in game text in GIANT font every 15 minutes for Wendy's Chicken Nuggets.

Not surprised. On a related note, I keep thinking any moment now and Epic are going to launch Fortnite-based restaurants IRL. The game is full of food-based themes and restaurants. Sushi, burgers, chicken, pizza, fish stick characters. Like they are conditioning kids to want them when/if it happens IRL. Keep telling friends I'm sure they are going to launch Fortnite malls, with restaurants along those themes. Hope I'm wrong because if my suspicions are right that really would be out of order.
Won't be looking to give Rockstar (or anyone else who pulls these greedy stunts) my money again any time soon. Had great fun in GTA first year or two, shame.
That is a hacked message, just like the sub Pewdipie message, the GTA 6 is coming message and the LIGMA message.
They are not advertising using in game notifications, the only adverts they run are Shark card targeted deals and they are splash screens.
They game has finally settled down with much less modding in lobbies...

So it looks like the Casino is finally opening..
They have started work inside as there is now building materials outside and the signs have been taken down.. Work is expected to continue for the next few weeks..
Quite impressed how they are doing this.. each week they will increase the amount of props outside until the DLC drops so it looks like they are busy building it..
I don’t expect this DLC to be cheap at all...

Likely many years away still. The GTA money train has slowed down a bit but they’re still making millions from GTA Online so I’d imagine GTA VI will be 2022 or thereabouts on PS5 etc. Then re-released on PC later.
I just saw this thread and out of interest might reinstall GTA5, some questions:
- Is the online play still spending ages trying to find someone? Then one guy zips past and you never catch up with him?
- Any fun mods? One of the ones they used to have on the old GTA which I loved was 'smear the queen' one person is selected at the start as 'it' and the rest have to chase them. Survive 5 mins and win.

I'm having some issues playing GTA V, at 4k it normally is pretty smooth, recently I've had to knock a lot of settings down but still certain areas with high foliage the frames tank to 30 ish and it seems uber laggy compared to a lot of games at similar fps, this game used to run mostly max settings at 4k with my 1080Ti and Ryzen 1600 at 3.7GHz, can't seem to work out what th e issue is? Any ideas/
