Aye, that's what I've also seen on previous Ryzen platforms, but had plenty of folks in this very forum try and climb down my gullet when I mention that before.

So who knows what Ryzen 3000 might prefer.

I currently have 32GB, and would prefer to stay wit 32GB, instead of dropping to 16GB; but it depends on how well 4 sticks, vs 2 ( dual rank ), run at decent speeds.
Not just ryzen more like since eee forever. 4 sticks tend to put more stress on IMC than 2 on Intel Amd ...cyrix via ;)
Depends how it deals with dual rank vs single rank.

Depends what You consider descent speed 3466cl14 is working on both solutions atm so.

I'd prefer to get as close to 3733Mhz as possible; don't want to leave any performance on the table if possible.

Hopefully Ryzen 3000's IMC doesn't have issues with Dual Rank at 3600Mhz plus for 2x16GB

Elmor (who previously worked at ASUS) has said that the C6H will run the 16c no problem so I'm happy.

Saying that, we know what AMD's marketing has been like in the past regarding them saying that Zen2 will perform the same on all platforms. We'll see come release date I guess.

As I say hard to say before we start to play. It's 3rd version of this imc. BUT now its on separate die and If I could run 3866cl20 and pass IBTx10 on Zen+ on that. I think it should work with dual rank with changes they made but. time will tell.

In a slightly different position to a lot of peeps here, in that i won't be swapping Cpu until September (3950x). That means i can watch all the reviews come in, including any that might run the 3900x on a CH6 with 4x8Gb of ram. Because my CH6 already runs 4x8Gb at 3533Mhz Cas14, it's not a large leap of faith that the same mobo and ram will run Cas16 at 3733.

Isn't the Master much more expensive? Or maybe I'm confusing it with another Gigabyte X570 board, there are so many this time around...

X470 Taichi was a 12 phase I believe, so yes, almost certainly. :p

Phantom Gaming X and Taichi both both 14 phases or 12+2 . So they are against Aorus Master and Ultra . both which loose out VRM wise

BUT ALL ARE FINE ! rock on your 16 cores !

Anyone have experience with running 4x dual rank sticks? How much penalty do clock speeds get compared to 2x dual rank.

(I already have a B-die 64gb set, rated for 3000C15)

friend asked me about his CH6 running these new ones . told him 12 core will be fine 8 phases running 40amps each ( 4 doublers) and built his rig with 4 pin cpu installed he'll be good to go . 16 core, since he does CPU rendering over the space of 48 hours plus... i couldn't recommend it to him if it was going to overclock it .

He does rendering that takes 48 hours+ now, but with a 3950X it will take less time. :D

Personally even if OC'd I'd think 400W+ at 1.3v is way more than enough especially as the TI VRM's on the CHVI are not as temperature sensitive as others are.

thats a damn good point! then again I can buy a spanking new asus board for him without the asus tax, and then charge him half the asus tax for it ;)

150c haha ! seems asrock still used it in x470 bu asus went to IR units . Least ASUS were smart to add in the extra 4 Pin with the CH6 unlike asrock's taichi . think also MSI X370 XPower has 8+4 as well

What will ryzen 3 performance be like on cemu

Well, a Ryzen 2700X at 4.3Ghz just about matches my 4690K @ 4.6Ghz in Cemu and the Ryzen 3 cores are supposed to be at least 15% faster at the same clock speeds, so Cemu will be no problem for Ryzen 3 or any other emulator.

C6H VRMs will handle the 16c according to Elmor.
