Zowie FK1 Mouse Not Working

Hi

Hoping someone can clear up if my mouse has completely had it.

Working fine one day, next day I turn on PC and it's like the mouse isn't connected.

Tried the usual unplugging, changing USB port etc - nothing.

Mouse from laptop works fine in the USB ports so I'm ruling them out as the issue.

The light on the bottom of the mouse flickers for a second when it's plugged in but then doesn't come back on.

When it's plugged in I get a message from windows saying the device is not recognised and it has malfunctioned.

It's 2 years old so out of the warranty period, are there any fixes for this or is time to bin it? Bit disappointed given it's only two years old with fairly light use.

Could always email Zowie and ask no idea on what Benq's customer service is like, but worth a try!

Sounds like something's broken. Cable, USB controller...

Try wiggling the cable around, see if you get a consistent repro.

If you are feeling brave you could try opening it up or seeing if there is a youtube video about it. I had a similar problem with my old Microsoft intellipoint 1.1a ages ago. Turned out it was a loose cable

I had same problem. The light on the bottom only flick for 1sec. I open the mouse and found out that the wire is broken.
luckily i didn't throw away my old razer deathadder. i took deathadder wire and issue was fixed.

Think he might have fixed it/bought a new mouse by now.
